The New York Metropolitan Country Music Association was founded in September 1983 for the purpose of promoting country music and dance in the metropolitan area. We are a non-profit organization, and are chartered by the state of New York.
In order to promote country music, we hold dances every month which feature the best of the local country/western bands and DJ's. We usually also produce a series of free concerts in public parks during the summer. These concerts feature at least one local band, and a dance lesson.
Our dances are usually held on Saturday nights at the Glendale Memorial Building, 72-02 Myrtle Avenue, Glendale, Queens, N.Y. from 7:30pm till about 12:30am. Dance lessons are given for no additional cost at approximately 8pm. Admission for CMA members is $10 and Potential members is $12. For directions to our dance please click here.
If you are a member of NYMCMA or another CMA and show a valid membership card, you will be admitted at members' price. No one under the age of 18 will be admitted. Proof of age must be verified by photo ID. Membership applications are available at our dances or please click Membership. Members receive our newsletter "The Round Up" 4 times a year, filled with what's going on in country and articles about what your CMA family is up to, as well as ads for bands, upcoming events and NYMCMA information galore. Members can and do submit articles to the Roundup... Country minds want to know.
